Working from home is viewed as a comfort and convenience for most people. However, this does not come without the new challenges that a regular office or working place never has. The challenges of not staying in bed all day, eating a lot, ignoring the distractions such as the TV, and even the kids at home can be a real hindrance to accomplish work. This is the problem that was met by a certain weatherman working from home in this time of the pandemic.
Paul Dellegatto, a chief meteorologist of FOX 13 Tampa Bay, Florida, made headlines last April 16th 2020 for his work-from-home buddy’s guesting on a national TV. Actually, it was his buddy, an adorable golden retriever, who made the headlines instead. Watch the video below to see how Brody, the clingy retriever buddy, demanded the attention of the weatherman while he was on the air:
Thanks to Fox 13
At the beginning of the clip, it can be seen that Brody was already getting doubtful and jealous of the laptop that Paul was using. Still not getting the attention he wanted aside from simple petting, he climbed onto the lap of his owner, sniffing and getting curious as to why his owner was dressed in his work clothes when they were only inside their house. Still oblivious that both of them were on live TV, Brody got all curious about the camera equipment in the room. Maybe Paul’s adorable Golden Retriever already got the idea that at the end of the video, we could already see him well-behaved though he’s not yet leaving his owner behind, waiting patiently at his feet.
The clip went viral over the week. This scenario just shows that even dogs and pets at home get curious as to why their owners are suddenly home most of the time but dressed in corporate attire, also complete with gadgets around them. These pets are not generally accustomed to us working at home and being home 24 hours since the start of this pandemic era.
In these trying times of the pandemic, even reporters and weather forecasters are working from the comforts of their homes even while they are on air. This is not the first time that a reporter was interrupted on live TV by their ‘home buddies’. Just this week, two cats of journalist Doris Bigornia from the Philippines were seen having a fight on live TV while their owner was doing a live interview.
