Dogs, inarguably, have the most powerful and creative minds among all animals. We can put our trust in them in different ways. Some dogs, for instance, are trained to help other people with disabilities while others sniff bombs and trapped people during rescue operations. Dogs are widely appreciated, and they have already proved a lot.
Sometimes, we keep on wondering how do dogs process such information that they are able to extend help to someone else? How can a four-legged creature understand that someone needs help and that saving people is the right thing to do? Well, let us not forget that dogs have a two-year-old mind of a child. Right from the simple up to the complex things that they can do, let us not underestimate dogs. If dogs can save people, we are sure that they can protect themselves, too!
Chico at the police station
Chico is a one-year-old pup from Texas, and his story is quite fascinating. Chico left his house in the middle of the night. After probably realizing he was lost, he went directly to the Odessa Police Department in Texas. The officers said that he showed up at the front desk of the police station as if he was reporting himself missing.
The Texas Department said that Chico walked in at around 3:30 a.m., and the police officers on duty started playing with him. After finding out that Chico didn’t have a tag, they tried contacting the Animal Control to see if he had a chip. But, before they were able to check, Chico immediately ran out the door.
The team searched for Chico, but he was nowhere to be found and already missing. The last thing that they did was to post his photo on Facebook which immediately went viral. Eduardo Alvarado, Chico’s owner, didn’t know that Chico left the house until he saw the Facebook post. Surprisingly, when Eduardo went out of his room to check Chico, he found the dog already home, safe and sound!
Dogs are clever creatures
Chico’s story is just one proof that dogs are both talented and intelligent. Do you expect your dog to run away, make himself famous for escaping, and then go back home safe and sound? Of course, not. Some would probably scold his dog for doing that! Dogs are fun creatures to be with, and it’s not hard to put our trust in them when we know that they can handle themselves!
