Jasmine Milton received terrible news about her mental health state. Back in 2013, the girl hit rock-bottom and attempted to commit suicide twice. She sought the help of a counsellor to know what was wrong with her. Milton then though of adopting a pooch to help her cope with her mental health anguish.
To her surprise, the pooch did not only help her to live a healthy life. Instead, the pooch likewise paved the way for her to continue her college education to reach her dreams. This started when Milton brought home with her Anuko, a four-month-old Husky. She did this after she got diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and got recommendations to adopt a pooch.
She learned that dogs have healing powers through a fellow patient, who had the same situation as hers. At first, Milton shrugged the idea off because she was not ready to have a dog. But soon enough, after reading related studies about dogs, Milton agreed to the plan.
When the dog turned two, the gorgeous dog became an internet sensation. This is due to his unique markings around the eye part, which made him look grumpy. Milton explained that it was normal for Anuko to look grumpy because of his situation. But in reality, the dog is sweet and caring, contrary to the perception of many.
Due to his odd facial expression, the dog became meme-worthy, and soon enough, people from the internet created several funny memes out of the dog’s appearance. After getting enough social media fame, Anuko was able to help Milton raised around $26,600 due to his facial expression.
With the money, Milton was able to finance her tertiary education to finish her degree in clinical psychology. Milton said she took this path to help other students or people who may have mental health-related problems.
