Who can’t resist milk? Perhaps it’s one of the healthiest drinks that everyone loves and adores. For instance, this is one of the top ingredients used when making ice creams and smoothies for refreshments! Milk is a great source of nutrients that can help strengthen your body and bones. It’s packed with a lot of nutrients and has a good element in providing proteins in the body system. But apart from that thought, you might have been thinking of giving some of this to your dog. Yet, do your dogs get the same amount of benefit? Or is it safe to let your dog drink even just a sip of it?
Let’s learn more.
Is Milk Safe for my Dog to Drink?
While it is purely healthy for humans to drink milk, this isn’t the same for your dogs. Like other human foods, letting your dog have a bowl or glass full of milk might lead to some implications such as diarrhea and Vomiting. Remember that dairy products are one of the major sources of food intolerance of dogs. This means that your little companion has difficulty in digesting snacks and treats with a dairy content. However, do note that while some dogs have food intolerance with foods like this, some dogs can tolerate the effect itself.
For example, your dog might not okay with eating cheese but is fine with drinking milk. Other dogs may go the other way around. Although this kind of matter occurs, still it is best if you’ll try to manage the food and drinks to serve to your dog. Eventually, you’ll have some signals when your dog is Lactose Intolerant. The common symptoms are usually: Abdominal pain, Loose Tools, Diarrhea, Gas, and Vomiting.
As these symptoms and danger can occur at any moment, some people still go with letting their dogs have milk. Well, one possible and valid reason might be because of the vet doctor’s recommendation. In reality, it is certainly fine to feed your dog milk but in moderation. Always take note that anything too much is always bad. Also, don’t get too much confidence if you feel like your dog’s okay with some dairy products. Like humans, sometimes your little buddy’s appetite changes too. Ensuring the best diet that they could have is still one of the best things to do.
