Howl of a Dog received a notification from a concerned individual about baby animals he heard crying in the bush. Quickly, the rescuers responded to the call and rushed to the said location to investigate. They thought a stray dog or some animal gave birth in the area, but it turned to be more than that.
There were tall grasses and thick bushes, so the rescuers thoroughly searched the area. A few feet from the country road, they found several puppies dumped inside a bag. Two were out, but the rest was still inside.
The rescuers gently scooped the two puppies one by one and checked them to make sure they are alive. They placed them into safety and then proceeded to examine the bag. To their surprise, there were four more puppies inside.
It was a rainy and shivery morning, and the puppies were very cold. It was a miracle that these little babies were still breathing at the moment the rescuers found them. They were incredibly young that they still have their umbilical cords attached.
After securing the six newborn puppies, the rescuers searched the perimeter further. They wanted to make sure there’s no puppy left behind. And not too far from where they were, they found another puppy entangled in the bushes.
The rescue workers drove the siblings straight to the vet, where they received urgent medical attention. The veterinary team did everything they could to keep the puppies warm and comfortable. But despite their efforts, only three out of the seven puppies survived.
Like the rest of their siblings, Taz, Bernie, and Lizzie were too weak when they arrived at the rescue center. But they fought for their lives and soon made an amazing recovery. They will be with their rescue friends at Howl of a Dog until they find their new forever families.
