When the staff of an animal rescue group first laid eyes on Champi, she was barely recognizable as a pup. The poor dog was found lying on the side of the road in Solapur, India. Coal tar and debris were sticking all over her body.
The tiny pup desperately needed someone to save her, for she was completely stuck on the pavement and unable to move. Luckily, some staff from Animal Rahat were there to rescue her. The rescuers knew then and there that they had to act fast if they wanted to save Champi.
The first responders of the group sedated the tiny pup and moved her to a safe place. Upon arriving there, the rescuers began the process of carefully cleaning Champi’s skin. They used a combination of vegetable and coconut oil to rub away all the coal tar and debris as gentle as possible. The whole process must not have been comfortable for Champi, but she displayed bravery through it all.
In the video, little Champi can even be seen standing independently and asking one of the staff for pets. It took the team four days to thoroughly rub away all the dirt and sludge. But the process for Champi’s recovery was still beginning.
After being tar-free, her skin was still missing patches of fur. But little by little, as her skin was healing, the little pup’s sweet personality started to shine through. Over time, Chi fully recovered, and her skin is now fully coated in white and brown fur. The sad little unmovable pup who was rescued in a pavement transformed into a big loving dog.
She’s now adopted by one of her rescuers and enjoys her day playing with her new family. And as the video concludes, Champi can finally live the best life with nothing holding her back.
